"For A/W 2012, AllSaints presents Nouvelle Vague - a new wave of cohesive, confident, committed Menswear and Womenswear that delivers an attitude driven uniform built from diverse and disparate elements. The collection displays a clear evolution and a deliberate contrast between precise simplicity and conscious provocation. It is a collection that is both un-apologetic and un-affected."
Yesterday I attended the AllSaints A/W 2012 preview and needless to say I was blown away and rather turned off by the now constant color- craze of the current season. With this in mind, I couldn't seem to get a decent photo to show what I wore to the preview- in fact I felt like I appeared more as flower arrangement as I was decked out in a floral kimono and pastel palette (as usual!). But moving on, their collection was a fervent reminder of why I always relied on muted tones to serve as staples in my wardrobe. Like many others, AllSaints chose to return to a dark and sophisticated color palette, opting for appropriate winter favorites including leather and wool-like materials. They supplemented these traditional elements with striking embellishments and fun prints. It was definitely a sight to be seen and a dream waiting to be worn. I felt as though I were in a gallery of some of the most coveted pieces of the coming season as I'm sure others will definitely fall in love just as much as I have. And one thing is certainly apparent... This fall we're going back to black.
