July Instagram Photo Diary

July, July. Oh where do I begin? It's easily been the busiest summer month I've experienced yet and to get a better idea of how I spent my time I've broken it down categorically and sort of (but not really) chronologically for you all, as such, here is basically how I spent my month:


1. One of my favorite spots in the Refinery29 office. 2. A visit to the VIGOSS USA showroom.
They say if you work hard you play hard but in the case of a blogger, working is the equivalent of playing. I'm constantly getting involved in new projects and endeavors, two of which involve working with Refinery29 (and another awesome brand, can you guess which?!) as well as working on a piece on the success of the VIGOSS brand.

With the dawn of the Olympics and Presidential elections, 2012 has made it much easier for me to be proud of being an American and finding excitement in celebrating a holiday like the 4th. ... But it might be because it's the only appropriate time to breakout this patriotic pair. Freedom and fashion? You seriously can't go wrong.

Thanks to Nylon Mag Bryant and I were able to score VIP tickets to the Neon Trees show at Webster Hall. I have to admit that I only really knew two of their songs by heart, but it was honestly one of the best live shows I've ever attended. Rockin' on was taken to a whole neeeewwwww level!

So, as it turns out I am an active blogger on both Blogspot and Tumblr. Yet quite honestly Tumblr has become such an integral part of my life. I started my first blog The Style Line on Tumblr about a year and a half ago and since it's inception it has reached over 90,000 followers and additionally I have connected with so many amazing people and received incredible opportunities. The communal value that Tumblr creates for it's fashion bloggers is out of this world. I have never met a group of more talented or passionate people. For that, I'm sorry Blogspot I love you but Tumblr definitely has a large part of my heart. <3.

Ah yes, July did show me some of the sweeter things in life... Literally. After being away for two months Bryant's return home was something I had eagerly and obviously been anticipating for the start of the summer. Additionally July also brought such fun events and the chance to meet and re-connect with people I rarely get to see. Living a life that is pretty much go, go go, makes it hard to just stop and enjoy the moment. This month definitely showed me that's something I have to (re) learn to do.

It may be pretty typical to include a food photo in an Instagram round up but at the end of the day, all I really wanted to show with this set is the importance of being home. After all of the craziness that we deal with on a day to day basis it was nice going home, being fed and being listened to. You can always rely on mom and pops.
